So as you might know i’ve been training for a 100 mile race Jan 21 in vegas. Ive been training really hard and been super dedicated. This week happens to be “peak week” which means it’s going to be the hardest training week (106 Miles in 6 days). My gramps has been battling cancer for the last year or so and things have been getting progressively worse. He is literally the best gramps i coul ever ask for. From when i was young to now him and I always had a special bond. He came to every single one of my hockey games as a kid and would give me a $1 for every assist and $2 for every goal (i almost made him broke i was so nasty). He’s also always been into fitness and lifting weights he was a huge gym bro it was a big passion of his so when i started getting into it 2 years ago we also bonded over that. He is excited for me to do my 100 mile race and thinks it’s crazy. I was supposed to go back and train in Miami with the rest of the crew and my gramps and my family said I should. But i just don’t feel right leaving after all he’s done for me. I wouldn’t be where I’m at without him. Gonna stay by my gramps side here in Canada and dog out my 106 miles. Also thanks for all the insane amount of messages and prayers. My gramps woke up alot better today and he was talking way more which is wild. The power of prayer is serious. This 100 miles has taken on a whole new meaning for me now. Gonna do it for my gramps. I hope i can be even half the man he is one day ❤️
