When @chipotle asked me to do a collab I said “hell yes” without a hesitation. As you know I am incredibly busy flying every week and never in one place at one time! #chipotlepartner 🤍 Being consistent with my meals whilst travelling is hard but never impossible! One of my fave go to meals anywhere I go is my Chipotle bowl! Krissy’s Bowl: 1. Rice base! 2. Double chicken to hit those protein macros 3. Fajita veggies 4. Beans if you fancy them 5. Light cheese 6. Guacamole always! Most times I’ll order chips on the side too! This is by far one of my fave go to meals when I’m in a rush or simply don’t have the time to wait around!

When I found out I was pregnant I made a promise to myself; to look after myself the best way I could physically and mentally. My job as a mother to be is to protect my baby but as a human it’s also to protect and show love to myself. I’ve been lifting for over 10 years and on the days I felt good I moved because it made me feel even better. There were days of exhaustion, sickness and not getting out of bed but there were also days I went to the gym and I felt so great. Please do what feels good for you people who have 0 experience and qualifications are just sharing their opinions…. And that’s all it is an opinion! but it’s not your job to listen. You should only listen to your doctor, yourself and what feels good. To all the pregnant mammas out there if you’ve worked out once you’re doing amazing! To the mammas working out all the time you’re amazing! Don’t let someone else’s journey cloud yours please. PS you think I’m going to spend years working on creating cute activewear only to not wear it with my bump! Yes i promise more stretchy leggings/ products coming this year for all seasons of your life. @oneractive always 🤍

So let this be your reminder to not give up on yourself. Postpartum was hard and like all women who give birth it takes its toll on you and your motivation is low or non existent. 1. I lifted weights, I ate consistent but more deprived myself and I started Pilates which I love! 2. Didn’t rush it! This is a year and half journey 3. Compound moves: squats, deadlifts! That never changed 4. Deep core and Pilates workouts which I do 2/3 times a week 5. Eat the same thing 80% of the time it’s boring but who cares honestly 6. Found work arounds. I travel to a new continent or country every week so staying consistent isn’t exactly easy! But I find local gyms, hotel room workouts and I order the same thing over and over again. All my workout program are on the @evolveyou app exclusively ✨

If anyone is feeling some type of way with Christmas coming up regarding the food, not moving your body as much, or feeling like you’re losing your progress, I personally haven’t trained properly for what will be two months, with another month to go! It is so easy for me to say, don’t worry about it, as of course, you will! BUT what I really like to do is remember that my fitness journey should never be controlling me or consuming me, it should be elevating me. Working out, moving, eating well, and resting is about choosing you over and over again. That doesn’t mean it’s linear or perfect. It’s paving the way for you to actually have a more enjoyable life! Enjoy this precious time of pause, rest, and just being present in the chaos of life. You’ll come back to it in no time. Trust me I’m so ready to get moving again! we will work through it together. 🤍

Honestly I really don’t care if someone thinks this is cringe. I was recording my workout as I do, and bam… it hit me like a ton of bricks a wave of emotions I’ve been burying so deep. I love my life I really cannot complain I couldn’t even ask for more. But, some emotions are completely out of your control, especially postpartum emotions which clearly I haven’t recovered from. Most days I’m trying to be a superhero but some days are unbearable and confusing. You feel like you’re doing great and then something triggers you to think you’re not doing enough. Not a good enough mum. Not a good enough partner. Not a good enough friend, not a good enough human. Yesterday was one of those days where my hormones got the better of me and I couldn’t shake it off. I did what I do best, I moved my body the best way I could that day and I tried to show up for myself. Even though I was crumbling. To any mums reading this or anyone going through some shit, I got you. Don’t bury it, release it, be present with it, it’s not shameful and it’s not embarrassing. You’re going through changes so embrace it. Ps I’m such an ugly crier ffs like why?

Female bodies are so special can’t tell me otherwise. Please note that this is 1 / 2s progress over 4 months and also please note I’ve been training ten years prior to giving birth/ during my pregnancy so I had a solid foundation. Gotta put a disclaimer in there too that this is MY journey so to any new mums out there I hope this inspires you not makes you feel bad go at your own pace but as much as looking after your bubba is your priority, your wellbeing is to. PP depressions has 100% hit me recently more than I could imagine so going to the gym or my home workouts is keeping me incredibly sane. Things I’ve been doing… 1. Sticking to a program I have post partum programs available on my app called @evolveyou 2. Grilled foods over fried foods 3. Hydration is key 2/3lt a day 4. Resting resting resting! You just endured 9 months of building a whole human and birth! So gently does it! 5. I workout 4 times a week max! 3 rest days 6. Walk as much as you want 7. Home cooked meals over fast food. This is key!! But having a set program is vital and probably the most necessary one just helped me stay focused and have one less thing to worry about. Hope this post helps or Inspires anyone and if not I really suggest you don’t follow accounts that affect your mental health as that’s the priority 🤍

Here is everything I did to recover and naturally get back to feeling strong post baby. Please note this isn’t to make any mammas feel bad it’s to encourage you to go at your own pace, know you can and will recover well and it is possible. Movement: 1. I lifting weights once I got the all clear. Nothing heavy, went slow and gradually build my strength back up. Weights and lots of core work was absolutely key. No crazy cardio, no crazy sessions. 2. Food: I focused on high protein and high fibre above all. Your gut and tummy need a lot of love post baby. Reduced how many supps I was taking and focused on whole foods ! Oh and healthy fats! 3. Rest. I started with 2 sessions a week, gradually increased and then I made it to 4-5 sessions with lots of recovery time inbetween heavy lifts 4. 2 heavy sessions a week 2/3 lighter loads. My training has changed a lot and I don’t lift heavy every single session. Lifting is a nonnegotiable but I don’t do it heavy everyday i rotate! 5. TIME! It just takes time and it’s defo a mental battle but I showed up even if it’s 15 mins I did it! Even when I was tired. Movement is my medicine Hope this helps 🤍

Remember when I told you to go and “do this for you” nearly 8 years ago. Well same principle applies. Committed to myself more than ever postpartum and of course it wasn’t easy and most days I was tired, lacked motivation and fatigued. I found movement to be my escape in the middle of chaos, I found it to be freeing. If you see working out as punishment then you’re never going to honour your body, the one place you call your home. I’ve been lifting 4 times a week, 2 low intensity sessions such as walking or a yoga class. I haven’t been doing 10k steps or been in a restrictive diet, I’ve aimed for more nutrient dense meals with a priority on trying to sleep and recover which I took for granted when I didn’t have a baby I write all my own programs and they can be found on the EvolveYou app it’s my own brand 💃🏻

Same movement, different seasons of my life. Point being…. Lifting weights is about consistency and doing the same move over and over again but progressing through volume, intensity, load. That’s how you’re going to really see results. A lat pull down is a lat pull down it doesn’t need to be made more complex! Try new methods but the same exercise: 1. TUT: time under tension 2. VOLUME: more reps / supersets 3. INTENSITY: reduced rest period 4. LOAD: add more weights over time For more workouts download the Evolve You app 💅🏽
