As a woman who’s moved her body for over a decade and has been through many stages in her fitness journey I can assure you this…. Move because you get to, appreciate the body you have today and work towards the body you want tomorrow. Your feelings are temporary so don’t dwell too much instead have a game plan and action it. Sure you’ll have bad days that’s inevitable but keep DOING THIS FOR YOU. Body trends come and go, one day being lean is in the next it’s strong, who knows what’s tomorrow! But what you should do is work with what you got and focus on strengthening your mind, habits and body!…. In a cute set of course 🤝 See you in the gym you got this 💅🏽

The term bounce back actually can be pretty daunting. Reality is you never really bounce back, the body you had even a year ago really isn’t the body you have today. Once I had my baby my focus was on rebuilding on the foundations I had put in place. It was also about rebuilding my metal state, my habits, motivation to even show up in moments when I really didn’t want to. When your body is going through change you can’t think about getting back to how things were. You have to think about building and building daily on a new version of you. A stronger version. If you’re really looking to start your fitness journey they come join the Evolve You App team. My postpartum program is there to get you safely back to rebuilding 🤍

Moral of the story is… my body changed but my habits and consistency did not. Of course there was moments I was tired and couldn’t be bothered but there were also moments I knew moving my body would make me feel better. Women should be moving their bodies unless their doctors have specifically told them otherwise. I also never snapped back I’m not who I was before and in my eyes I have a long way to go but there is no rush. I merely lift and move my body as it truly makes me a better person for me and my son. If you needed some motivation today let this be it… let it be your reminder that it’s never too late 🤍

When you start appreciating movement and giving it the respect it deserves you will realise that the way you look comes secondary. Anyone telling you that aesthetics doesn’t matter is honestly lying because all humans have an element of vain to them no one’s perfect BUT your desire to do this for longevity and your wellbeing needs to be the driving force and the reason you move as your body will change throughout different seasons of your life. One thing I can tell you is moving my body heavily pregnant was not particularly enjoyable or was it nice seeing my body change every five seconds, yes it’s beautiful but it’s equally a lot to comprehend for one person. Movement kept me sane and kept me going! Pregnancy has its challenges for a lot of women. I really struggled with mine from preeclampsia to early child birth to postpartum hormones that truly made me question so much. Taking a silly 48 hours maternity leave and going right back to work also didn’t help. Life of a business owner what choice did I really have? The only thing that kept me going once again was moving my body. Yes I had help from family and a nanny and I used that help to fill my cup up and work full time. We love to judge women I get it, it’s centuries of conditioning… but I’m proud of any woman who is doing something for herself, big, small! Movement was and will always be my safe haven ✨

Was anyone else as delusional as me pregnant assuming they could get away with buying no new sizes/ maternity clothes during their pregnancy?? Who was the delusional woman who thought she’d get away with not needing to buy maternity clothes ??? ME! Guilty! I am! Here I am 30 weeks pregnant with one paid of jeans left 😂 the only thing you’ll catch me in is stretch leggings, joggers, my man’s clothes or an occasional stretchy dress.

This week on Aspire I’m sitting down with @krissycela founder and creative director of @oneractive , one of the fastest growing activewear brands with hundreds of millions in annual revenue. Krissy started creating workout PDFs on a student laptop and spent a decade building one of the most loyal fitness communities online. That community became her customer base, her distribution channel and ultimately the foundation of everything Oner Active is today. What I find most interesting about Krissy isn’t just the success. It’s the honesty about what it actually took to become the founder the business needed her to be and what she had to let go of to get there. In this episode we get into: ✨ Why feeling underqualified should never stop you from building something big ✨ How she turned an audience into a loyal customer base ✨ The early mistakes that changed how she operates today ✨ What changed when she stopped people pleasing ✨ Why Oner is set to be the first female founded billion dollar active wear brand Our episode is out now on @YouTube, @ApplePodcasts and wherever you get your podcasts 🎙️✨
